Some came in buses/
some came in cars/
we were all waiting in the dark/
during August and September of 2005/
there was so much rain/
so much pain/
it came inside my house/
bringing me down/
down on my knees/
on the floor/
on the grass/
out on the street/
all alone /
I am wet/
she hurts/
we feel love/
in the distance/
far away/
she had a house/
but no more/
my family was there/
they came to visit/
they came to stay/
they are me/
I am them/
my family grew/
it got large/
by over 100,000 members/
we are having tacos, gumbo, and ice cream/
come and eat
2005

Tedd
I am a little better, I am pretty weak and this will take time, but able to get around the house a little.
just baby steps for now.
Wonderful poem and I'm glad you have a big table. I love your poems!!
Ted I'm also happy you are ok, please get better everyday.
I had a few friends on a bird site I frequented that lost everything as well. Thank you for sharing. Sometimes there is just nothing better than sharing a meal with new friends.
Great words as always. You paint a sublime picture of a horrible circumstance and a splendid opportunity.
It's my pleasure. Something about the cadence and nature of your words, even in comment, is irresistible. I hope you're well Prosopon.
You have a wonderful gift.
Likewise. Thank you for sharing what my writing brings. Whatever I am, it's honest. I let my subconscious do it completely. (Or "Her")
